Abstract

In this globalization era, it is more demanding for us to provide for better health services, especially in the accuracy of diagnosing a disease. In this study, we looked for differences in Periodic Acid Schiff (PAS) staining and Gomori Methenamine Silver (GMS) staining on tissue fungi such as Pneumocystis carinii, Paracoccidioidomycosis fungi, Candida fungi, Mycetoma fungi, and Rhinosporodium seeberry. In this study, it can be concluded that GMS staining gives better results than PAS staining. From this, it can be concluded that GMS staining is more accurate than PAS staining. The results of PAS staining were 40% less clear and 60% quite clear. In GMS staining the results obtained 100% very clear.
